Safeguarding

Recruit2Schools is fully compliant with the DfE document: Keeping Children Safe in Education (September 2016) and strictly adheres to the specific recruitment and vetting checks which must be carried out for all candidates who wish to work with children and young people.

All candidates placed by Recruit2Schools are expected to take all reasonable steps to ensure that they are alert to possible child abuse and neglect and to familiarise themselves with arrangements for safeguarding children in the schools which they are placed.

Recruit2Schools confirms that before supplying any staff to schools, it has:

– Undertaken a standardised, personal face to face interview with the applicant

– Confirmed identity and proof of address, in line with acceptable documents approved by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

– Confirmed right to work in the United Kingdom and obtained all necessary entry clearance certificates, work permits, biometric residence permits and immigration documents

– Confirmed the authenticity and ownership of all teaching and child-care qualifications

– Checked all candidates against the Education Workforce Council (EWC) website to ensure that there are no sanctions or restrictions on registration

– Obtained an enhanced DBS certificate to the appropriate workforce for all candidates or carried out a check via the DBS update service if subscription is held. All DBS checks are carried out by Recruit2Schools on a quarterly basis

– Asked candidates (at verbal vetting stage, on the written application form and at interview) to declare any unfiltered convictions, cautions, reprimands or warnings that may be in place

– Conducted a risk assessment on applicants with disclosures on their DBS certificate to determine suitability for registration

– Obtained a written declaration from the candidate to confirm that they have not been ‘Disqualified by Association’

– Confirmed that the candidate is medically fit to work in an educational setting

– Applied for, received, and verified two satisfactory and current references

– Verified any gaps in the applicant’s work history

Full clarification of the above requirements can be found in the Company’s Recruitment and Selection Policy
